Help

Answers to the questions we hear most. Can't find yours? Email hello@gimmetourneys.golf and a person will reply, usually the same day. On an event day, put "event today" in the subject.

How do I join an event?

Open the link your organiser sent, or scan the QR code. In the app, tap Join and paste the link or the event code (the last part of the link). Pick your name from the list and you're in. You don't need an account to score.

Do I need an account?

Not to score. An account keeps your record across events, lets you run your own events and is needed to enter an Open Cup. Sign in with your email (we send a link, no password) or with Apple.

I picked the wrong name

In the app, tap the "Scoring as …" line at the top of the scorecard and choose again. On the website, ask the organiser to put you right; they can enter or fix scores for any match from the admin page.

What happens if I lose signal?

Keep scoring. Scores are saved on your phone and sent, in order, as soon as you have signal again. The card shows how many scores are still waiting to send. Don't close the browser tab or delete the app until they've gone. If a score can't be saved at all (for example the card was locked), the card tells you.

How does confirming scores work?

Each side enters its own score for the hole. The other side then taps to confirm it. A hole is settled when both sides have confirmed. If a score is changed, the confirmation clears and the other side confirms again.

We disagree about a score

Settle it on the course the way you would on paper, then correct the score on the card. If you can't agree, tell the organiser: they can see every score and set the right one for both sides. Their decision is final.

My card is locked

A card locks when the players sign it off at the end of the match, so the result can't change by accident. If a score on it is wrong, ask the organiser to unlock it and fix it.

How do I turn notifications on or off?

In the app, go to Profile → Notifications, or change it in your iPhone's Settings under Gimme Tourneys.

How do I get my players in?

Add players by name in setup, then share the event link or QR code in your group chat. Players pick their own name. You can also send personal invite links so each player lands on their own name.

How much does it cost?

Free for events of up to 8 players. $35 for one event of any size, or $99 a year for every event you run on the Commissioner plan. You only pay when a bigger field goes live. Golf courses are free while we work with our first clubs.

Can I get a refund?

A $35 event is refundable in full until it goes live. The Commissioner plan is refundable within 14 days if you haven't taken an event live on it. See the refund policy.

How do I fix a wrong score?

Open the event's admin page, find the match and correct the hole. You can sign off for both sides. If the card is locked, unlock it first.

What should I do to get ready for the day?

Ask us at hello@gimmetourneys.golf for our one-page event-day card: what to check the night before, what to do on the day, and what to do if there's no signal or the app is down. The short version: make sure every player has opened the link before the first tee time, print a paper scorecard for each match as a back-up, and keep the admin page open on your phone.

Does Gimme Tourneys handle entry fees and payouts?

It tracks who has paid, skins and side-game payouts, and shared expenses. Money moves between players however your group already does it (e-transfer, cash). Open Cup entries are the exception: those are paid through us.

How do I report a comment or block someone?

In an event's live feed, open the comments and tap Report next to a comment (in the app, long-press it or tap …, where you can also Block its author so you no longer see their comments). The event's organiser can hide reported comments, and a comment reported by three people is hidden until they look. To report objectionable content or abuse to us, email hello@gimmetourneys.golf with the event name and what was said.

How do I delete my account?

In the app, open Profile, tap your details at the top, then Delete account. Or email hello@gimmetourneys.golf from the address on your account. Your scores stay with past events, no longer linked to you. The privacy policy lists exactly what is removed.

How do Open Cups work?

24 golfers sign up on their own and are drafted into two teams for a day of match play. Your Golf Canada index is checked before the draft. Withdraw more than 21 days out for a full refund; inside that, you can pass your spot to a friend. Read the entry policy.
