Draft — needs a legal review before launch. This is a plain-language draft, not final terms.
Terms of use
Last updated October 4, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Gimme Tourneys, an Ontario business. They cover the website at gimmetourneys.golf and the Gimme Tourneys app. By using either, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.
What Gimme Tourneys is
Gimme Tourneys is software for running golf events: setting up a tournament, inviting players, live scoring, the leaderboard, side games, votes and expenses. We also list Open Cups, where golfers sign up on their own and are put into teams.
We provide the software. We don't own or run golf courses, and unless we say otherwise for a specific Open Cup, we don't organise the golf itself. The organiser of each event (the commissioner, a club, or a host course) is responsible for the event.
Your account
- You can score as a guest without an account. An account is needed to organise events, keep a record and enter Open Cups.
- You must be at least 13 to use Gimme Tourneys, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
- Give accurate details, especially your name, handicap index and Golf Canada number where asked.
- Keep your email account safe. Sign-in links go to it, so anyone who can read your email can sign in as you.
- You can delete your account at any time. See the privacy policy for what that removes.
Plans and payments
- Free: events of up to 8 players, every format, with no time limit.
- One event: $35 for a single tournament of any field size.
- Commissioner: $99 a year for every event you run. It renews each year until you cancel.
- Golf courses: free while we work with our first clubs. We'll give clubs at least 30 days' notice before any charge starts.
Prices are in Canadian dollars and include no tax unless we say so; HST is added where it applies. Payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.
A paid event plan applies to the event it was bought for and can't be moved to another event. You can cancel a Commissioner plan at any time; it stays active until the end of the year you've paid for and then doesn't renew. We'll tell you before we change a price, and a new price applies only from your next payment.
Refunds are covered in the refund policy. Open Cup entries follow the Open Cup entry policy.
Money between players
The expenses, skins and side-game tools keep a tally for your group. They don't move money. Settling up is between the players. Organisers who collect entry fees outside Gimme Tourneys are responsible for that money and for any refunds of it.
Your content
"Your content" means what you put into Gimme Tourneys: names, scores, event details, feed posts, comments, votes, club names and crests.
- You own your content. You give us a licence to store, show and process it to run the service: for example, to show your scores to the rest of your event and on public tournament pages.
- Scores and results become part of the event's record, which belongs to everyone who played. They stay with the event if you leave or delete your account, without your account attached.
- Only upload a crest, logo or name you have the right to use.
- Event pages can be seen by anyone with the link. Don't post anything you wouldn't want the group to see.
Acceptable use
Don't use Gimme Tourneys to:
- harass, threaten or abuse anyone, including in the feed and comments;
- post anything illegal, hateful or sexually explicit, or anyone else's private information;
- enter false scores or a false handicap index to win a match, a skin or a prize;
- get into events, accounts or data that aren't yours, or try to break or overload the service;
- copy the service or scrape it in bulk;
- run gambling for profit. Skins and side games among friends are a tally, not a betting service.
Organisers can remove players and posts from their events. We can remove content, suspend accounts or close events that break these terms. Where it's fair to, we'll tell you first and explain why.
Golf events and your safety
Golf has real risks: stray balls, carts, heat, lightning and uneven ground. You play at your own risk and must follow the rules of the course you're playing, including its rules on carts, alcohol and weather.
- Don't enter scores while driving a cart.
- Distances shown in the app are estimates from your phone's location. Don't rely on them for safety.
- Prizes, payouts and results are decided by the organiser. Live scores can be corrected after the round; the organiser's final result stands.
- Disputes about a score or a ruling are for the organiser to settle. We can help show what was entered and when.
The service
We work hard to keep Gimme Tourneys running on event days, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Phones lose signal on golf courses. Scores entered offline are saved on the phone and sent when the signal comes back, but organisers should keep a paper back-up for anything that decides money or a trophy. Our help page explains how.
We may change features over time. If we stop offering a paid feature you've paid for, we'll refund the unused part.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, Gimme Tourneys is provided "as is". We aren't responsible for injury, loss or damage at a golf event, for decisions organisers make, or for indirect losses such as lost winnings. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you paid nothing.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Ontario consumer protection law that can't be limited by agreement.
Ending
You can stop using Gimme Tourneys and delete your account at any time. We can end your access if you break these terms. Sections on your content, liability and the law that applies continue after that.
Changes and the law
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top and tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect. These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Ontario.
